GONE - I rebuilt this 1989 3.5L V8 Vogue SE Range Rover in 2002. It's done 100k miles, but its V8 still purrs along nicely, and a bit more cheaply now its using a direct injection LPG system. Sold in 2010.
33-64 (of 120 found)
mega sill in the making - 100x60x3.6mm box !
will chop out the whole sill remains and replace with this box
drainage/waxing holes pre-drilled
never knowingly under-engineered...
mega sill now welded in, lower door pillars rebuilt, rear inner arch repaired and a couple of floor holes patched...
holes drilled for sill covers
new chassis mounts added at either end
painted in chassis black and then covered in black waxoyl
still need to inject the inside of the sill with waxoyl (and do the rest of the vehicle underside....)
now to start the other side...
central section looks better, but gone at either end again
Extensive repairs on this side all welded up and primered
the second sill fitted along with new mountings, repaired outriggers, door pillars, mudshields, footwells, etc....
ready for topcoats then wax.
and after a bit of waxoyle and a couple of months of use
and the MOT tester was impressed with the sills...
engine time again... Too much pressure in crankcase and low cylinder pressures
blackish, but ok so far
tappets flat or concave - should be convex
decide engine out this time!
emerging
up and out
and down
managed to leave the exhaust headers in situ
torque converter off
on stand
hmmm - head gaskets been leaking oil by the looks of it
head looked ok at least, but cant have been sealing correctly - those new later stretch headbolts?
