experimenting with different thicknesses

lots of dust

using a spacer to reduce the 1" minimum depth, to cut 1/2" planks

job done - took hours, about 3 tanks of fuel, and created loads of sawdust though

some good varried thickness planks

used the new brackets to hold the last bit and cut one extra plank, leaving a very thin strip of bark - brackets work well

supporting brackets - found an old halfshaft fitted the hood-frame tubes well

4 x 20L buckets of sawdust from that single log...

and about an hour later, a couple of the larch planks are providing the rabbits some shelter

larch should be naturally weatherproof (and rabbit safe)

unfortunately this great oak needs to go for a wider road
