head gasket being trial fitted

that red guide bolt didn't work - angle conflicted with aligned pushrods

on - used smaller guide bars in the holes on the far right

time to torque

new washers on rear oil feed banjo bolt

on and torqued

tappets getting set

new thermostat going in

Temperature switch going in

Temperature sender

brake vacuum hose, heater pipe, and carb spacer also fitted

exhaust valve cover on and manifold gaskets in place

manifold on

carb on

all back together and running ok.

The original sender broke - so i decided to replace with an electrical (land rover - i had one in stock!)

this was the old gauge reading max constantly

this is a spare landrover gauge and a spare P4 one to compare

had to dismantle as faces different

testing old face on new gauge

voltage regulator on back of old landrover speedo

removed

had to grind out bottom of window so arm could swing ok

extra ignition live taken from fuse box through to dash (bright green wire in centre)

connections to gauge

voltage regulator and relay mount for "lights-on" warning

relay and regulator mounted behind dash and connected up

got distracted and got this old Villiers 4 stroke single generator up and running
